Welcome to the wild world of ZOONOOZ
What is ZOONOOZ? Well, for one thing the title is a palindrome: the same forward, backwards, and upside down! Beyond that, it is the San Diego Zoo's member magazine, 32 pages of colorful animal and event information published every month.
First published in 1926, it is one of the benefits included in becoming a member of the San Diego Zoo, and most of the 250,000 plus circulation is mailed to our members.
What will you find in ZOONOOZ?
- Feature-length articles about the animals that live at the San Diego Zoo and the Wild Animal Park.
- Articles about Zoo and Wild Animal Park exhibits and what animals you’ll see there.
- The regular feature CRES Conservation Corner, with stories about research and conservation projects from Conservation and Research for Endangered Species (CRES).
- The regular feature On the Botanical Side, with stories about the huge variety of plants found on the grounds of the Zoo and the Wild Animal Park.
- The special ZOONOOZ calendar issue every November.
- News about events, education programs, giving opportunities, and conservation efforts.
If you want to be in the know, ZOONOOZ is for you!
ZOONOOZ® Magazine: March 2008
Everything old is new again!
Zhen Zhen, our youngest panda cub, shares a moniker with one of the first giant pandas ever studied in the wild. And they share something else: teaching humans about giant pandas. The San Diego Zoo’s long-term giant panda research loan has contributed a great deal to the species’ conservation. In only about a decade, the giant panda has gone from being one of the least understood to one of the better known mammals. Find out how our newest bundle of black and white is furthering our panda education, in this month's issue of ZOONOOZ®
