Welcome to the wild world of ZOONOOZ
What is ZOONOOZ? Well, for one thing the title is a palindrome: the same forward, backwards, and upside down! Beyond that, it is the San Diego Zoo's member magazine, 32 pages of colorful animal and event information published every month.
First published in 1926, it is one of the benefits included in becoming a member of the San Diego Zoo, and most of the 250,000 plus circulation is mailed to our members.
What will you find in ZOONOOZ?
- Feature-length articles about the animals that live at the San Diego Zoo and the Wild Animal Park.
- Articles about Zoo and Wild Animal Park exhibits and what animals you’ll see there.

Tons of fun at the Zoo
Jabba the river hippo Hippopotamus amphibius
watches his fans through a watery world. At
up to 7,000 pounds for males, river hippos are
the heavyweights of the hippo family. Of course,
the only other member is the pygmy hippo
Hexaprotodon liberiensis, comparatively small
at up to 600 pounds but still a force to be reckoned
