Cub Camp 2012
Youngsters will have a ton of fun during this half-day program. Each week includes animal encounters, games, and “snafts”—food crafts you can eat! Choose one or two week of fun for the younger set, ages 4 and 5. Cub Camp offers an Extended-day option: 7:30–9 a.m.
Zoo Work is Fun Play:
Daily focus for Monday: Wow! There are lots of jobs at the Zoo.
Meet a camel and a keeper, visit the garage, and dance to a calliope.
Daily focus for Tuesday: Even the animals have jobs!
Meet a trainer and a wolf, and enjoy a private visit with the Zoo’s animal characters.
Daily focus for Wednesday: Chow time at the Zoo.
Watch a special pig-dig enrichment session with some hungry pigs, and go behind the scenes for a treat at the Zoo’s Food Stands.
Daily focus for Thursday: Unusual jobs you can do at the Zoo.
Meet the train engineer and take a ride on the Zoo Express. Hear amazing stories with the Zoo’s bug guy!
Daily focus for Friday: Now that’s entertainment!
Help keeper Mike release the free-flight pigeons, visit the Camp store, and enjoy a show with the famous Dr. Zoolittle.

Animal Play at the Zoo:
Daily focus for Monday: Animal play can be lots of work!
Take a bus ride to see the animals play, and meet an opossum who plays dead!
Daily focus for Tuesday: Getting dirty when you play!
Meet the meerkats and watch them dig. Bugs love dirt and some eat dirt!
Daily focus for Wednesday: Animals that play come in all sizes.
Meet a baby giraffe that is a shy player and armadillos that have a built-in ball when they play!
Daily focus for Thursday: Animals sometime play with friends, too!
Meet a sea lion that plays with his trainers, and make (and eat) marshmallow animals that play together!
Daily focus for Friday: Animal play can be entertaining!
Hyrax have toes with suction cups-—now that’s entertaining! Visit the Camp store, where you’re sure to be entertained, and meet the famous Dr. Zoolittle, who loves to play, too!
