Hummingbird House: Enchanted world

The Hummingbird House is a long-time favorite of Zoo visitors. Being inside is almost like being in a fairy world, watching fantastic, colorful little creatures flitting by your face while surround by waterfalls and beautiful exotic plants.

Besides watching the birds nest and feed, you may also see them bathe—they like to shower several times a day. Sometimes they sit in shallow water and splash, and other times they perch next to the falls and flap their wings and ruffle their feather in the spray.

You’ll see more than hummers here. The aviary houses many of the Zoo’s smallest and most delicate avian species, including tanagers and honeycreepers. Sit along the edge of the aviary and admire the activity of the birds. It truly is an enchanted world.
