I really miss watching the bears in the water. They are so fun to watch! All I get is a white box or a still picture. Thanks.

Moderator's note: The Polar Cam seems to be working for us. Please try again.

How about using volunteers to operate the polar bear cams. The bears are so intelligent, playful and active that it's a shame to keep the cam focused on only one spot the whole day. The National Zoo in Washington D.C. uses volunteers for the panda exhibit. The cams follow the pandas throughout the day....have seen many wonderful moments.

Suzanne Hall mentioned that she has been observing Kalluk and Chinook as part of the polar bear breeding behavior study. So I was wondering if there have been any new developments in this year's breeding season. Please let us know when you get a chance!! And thanks for all the good work you do!!

Moderator's note: Our blog section has a new category for polar bears at http://www.sandiegozoo.org/wordpress/category/default/polar-bears/ Check it often to get the latest on our Arctic bruins!

Kelly, can you have the polar cam where we can see the whole exibit?
                           Thanks,
                    Sean

Moderator's note: We've moved it out as far as it can go. The whole exhibit is so large, that if the cam showed all of it, the bears would look might small.

Kelly,
Could you please get the polar cam fixed?
We're missing out on all the polar bear fun.
Thanks for all your hard work.

Editor's note: We're working on the cam problems inside the polar bear exhibit. Polar bear fans' patience while we access the camera and assess the problem is appreciated.

I just found this podcast and it was excellent (not to mention incredibly clear!). Thank you, Kelly, for telling us so much about the whole breeding and denning process, how the bears are interacting and updating us with what is going on! I love being a cam watcher and it is exciting to see love in the plunge! I am also glad that Kalluk is playing with Tatqiq, as well, and hope everything goes well for all the bears. At one point I thought I saw both females out at the same time, but I guess not, so I need to study them more carefully! After losing her sister, I think it would be wonderful if Chinook became a Mom! What a happy girl she would be! I am not only hoping for babies...I am hoping for twins!!! :)
