Thank you for telling us about the baby elephants. Camille is so cute. I also think the new little elephant (which we don't hear about or know the name yet) is also cute. Thanks for keeping us updated on all the baby elephants.

Thank you so much for the beautiful photos of Moya and her new baby! Curtis, you really gave us terrific info on the Elephant family. I wish we could come out and see you and the Elephants! William, age 2, really liked seeing photos of another baby nursing! What a wonderful job you do in describing and sharing the natural cycles of life of the elephants... very similar to us humans, as William could tell. I told him mommy elephants really love their babies soooo much! Thanks and wish you the best! E & W

It sounds like early sibling rivalry! Cosi doesn't sound like she is happy to be sharing a mom. Very interesting incite to elephant dynamics so early in their lives.
Great venue to be in the loop at the Wild Animal Park between visits!
Tons of great work:)
Thank you!

Hi Debbie,
Excellent interview with Curtis. He is a favorite of mine when I was at the back gate seeing him arrive for work every day. The Elephant Department is my favorite group of people whether they are working with the African or Asian Elephants they are so dedicated to the care of these beautiful animals.
I will be in San Diego the last week of October and, of course, will see my old friends. That includes the Elephants.
Thank you again for such a great study of life with the Elephant Keepers and the Elephants themselves. It is a beautiful tribute to the work accomplished at the Wild Animal Park and the San Diego Zoological Society.
With love and gratitude, Joyce Romero
                                                  Springfield, Virginia

Congratulations on the newest member of the elephant family. How exciting, I can't wait to come down there and see her. Do you have a name for her yet!

The wait is over! I've been watching for the notice about the baby's arrival. I was at the zoo a few months ago and watching the other 3 play was such a treat. I was at the elephant overlook for well over an hour just watching and laughing so I can only imagine that the other 'children' are going to greet their newest playmate with joy! Can't wait to get down there soon to see all 4 of them. I envy everyone who gets to spend so much of their time with these magnificent animals.

Curtis you just take good pics of my babies for me and putting them on the web page for me. My family will be there soon enough to take our own. Thanks for everything SDZ.

Interesting chat. I have certainly learned quite a bit about those wonderful animals. You were talking about the pecking order and I was wondering how a matriarch is chosen in the herd. Are you going to post a video of the new calf? Keep up the excellent work on taking care and protecting those elephants
