We are actively recruiting volunteers who have a passion for wildlife conservation and a love of sharing information. An Interpretive Volunteer is well versed in a wide variety of areas and is able to interpret information to best serve each individual guest's needs. Interpretive volunteers will be stationed throughout the Zoo and/or Wild Animal Park (your choice) on a rotation, engaging guests with animal information utilizing a variety of interpretive tools.
All applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Must be 18 years or older
- Have a positive attitude, and strictly adhere to our world-class policies, procedures, grooming, and customer service standards
- Complete an online application
- Complete and pass an interview with our volunteer interview panel, and provide references
- Pass background check including Live Scan fingerprinting
- Provide a negative TB test annually
- Attend and complete orientation
- Attend and complete the I.V. League Training Course
- Attend and complete the Elephant Odyssey Training Program
- Pass weekly quizzes and a final exam.
