Information Ambassadors at the San Diego Zoo & Wild Animal Park

Assist Guests

If you are interested in getting involved at the San Diego Zoo or the San Diego Zoo’s Wild Animal Park, but you are not necessarily interested in engaging and educating guests about wildlife and conservation, this may be the perfect opportunity for you. Volunteer Ambassadors are required to report for a minimum of 60 hours of scheduled duty annually. This group of volunteers is able to work in a variety of areas, or choose just one. Examples of areas to choose from include general office assistance, information booths, assisting with special event booths and activities, horticulture, and more. Some departments need consistent help while others have one-time needs or sporadic requests, but we try to make the best match possible.

All applicants must meet the following requirements.

"Volunteering at the Zoo has given a center to my life after retirement. Helping people here and spreading the Zoo’s message keeps me intellectually challenged and gives my life a greater richness and depth." —Ruth Disraeli (Zooma)
