A female koala joey, born on March 24, 2008 needs a name. The koala keepers would like friends of the Zoo to help them find the perfect name for the little girl. They would like the name to have a Australian or aboriginal significance. Keepers will review the names submitted online and select the top five names. During Zoo Discovery Days: Koalapalooza, January 16-19, 2009, guests at the San Diego Zoo will vote on their favorite name for the joey.
Here's a little about the joey to help with your suggestions: Zoo keepers report that she stays close to her mother, and is often seen on her mother's back. However she has shown signs of independence by sitting next to her mother in their perching tree.
