Kid Territory:Recipes: Iguana Icies

Iguanas come in all shapes, colors, and sizes. In fact, there are 30 species found around the world. One of my favorites is the marine iguana from the Galápagos Islands. This iguana is a skillful swimmer and its black coloration helps it to warm its body after swimming in the cold water. If its body were too cold, it wouldn't be able to digest its food properly.

Ingredients

1

 can frozen limeade

1

 can lemon-lime soda

3 to 4

 scoops lime sherbet

 Green food coloring

Put the limeade in a blender with lime sherbet. Add 3 to 4 drops of green food coloring. Cover with lemon-lime soda to about 2 inches from the top of the blender. Put the lid on TIGHT! Blend for 3 to 4 minutes until smooth. Serve as a drink or freeze in paper cups as popsicles. A great way to cool down on a warm day!
