Kid Territory:Recipes: Crunchy Camel Custard Cups
Camels
are one of the coolest animals in the world. They have some great adaptations
to help them survive
the tough conditions they live in. Instead of two eyelids like we have
(a top and bottom), camels have three, with one working like a windshield
wiper to keep the sand out of their eyes. Their long eyelashes also
help keep out blowing sand. Sand is a big part of this animal's life,
but you'll be glad to know we didn't use any sand in our recipe!
Ingredients
Instant
butterscotch pudding
Milk
Vanilla
wafers cookies
Waffle
cone cups
Mix butterscotch pudding with milk according to box instructions. Pour the firm pudding into waffle cone cups right before you are ready to eat your camel cup--otherwise the waffle cone cup gets a little soggy. Using vanilla wafers to make the humps, create your own dromedary (one hump) or bactrian (two hump) camel. For a different desert dessert delight, buy the new rainbow-colored vanilla wafers and create some really wild looking camels. ( Here's a good trick for spelling desert and dessert: which one would you like second helpings of? Dessert, of courseit has two Ss!)
