Education: Conservation: You Can Help!
There are many ways you can help us in our conservation efforts. From directly donating money to visiting the San Diego Zoo or the San Diego Zoo's Wild Animal Park to simply becoming more aware of conservation issues, you can help us preserve wildlife. Here are some easy ways to become involved in our conservation endeavors.
Join the Zoological Society of San Diego
Membership, donor clubs, online donations, and our Adopt-An-Animal program provide significant support for the Zoological Society, allowing us to provide for the animals at the San Diego Zoo and the Wild Animal Park and continue our mission of conservation and education.
Support the Zoological Society of San Diego
At least half of the money raised each year to support the Zoological Society and our mission is derived from people visiting the San Diego Zoo and the Wild Animal Park through admissions and souvenir, gift, and food sales. Merchandise is also available online at ShopZoo.com.
Make green choices
An important part of conserving species and habitats in the wild is supporting sustainable use of habitat over habitat destruction. If you are a teacher or youth group leader, you can participate in our Cans for Critters program! Recycle your used cell phones at the Zoo or Wild Animal Park!
Learn more and share what you learn
Learning about animals and the challenges they face is an important part of conservation. People do not value what they do not know about. Read about projects our department of Conservation and Research for Endangered Species (CRES) is involved with. Help us educate people about endangered species and habitats.
