Pack your appetites on September 29, from 7:30 p.m. to midnight, for a Flight of Fancy at the 27th annual Celebration for the Critters, presented by Cymer, Inc. This spectacular event benefits the Zoological Society of San Diego’s center for Conservation and Research for Endangered Species (CRES). Start your night with cocktails and incredible edibles, enjoy dancing under the stars, and help make a difference for animals and habitats around the world!
  • More than 80 restaurants will be serving an amazing variety of gourmet foods for you to sample until 9:30 p.m.
  • Wines will be provided by over 90 vintners from Santa Barbara, the Central Coast, Monterey, Napa, Sonoma and Mendecino. Spirits and handcrafted beers will also be provided.
  • Live entertainment on two stages. Sensation Show Band will be appearing on the main party stage, and Nu Vision Band will entertain at Sydney’s.
  • Party souvenirs! Browse the Bazaar for those “must-have” items: T-shirts, beads, and glow-in-the-dark jewelry.
  • Take a chance on winning one (or more!) of several great drawing items, such as Zoo parties/inside tours, travel, and jewelry at the Opportunity Drawing.
  • Meet Joan Embery and her exotic animal friends.
  • Stop by and purchase a special cocktail at the Martini Bar and take home the blinking souvenir glass!
  • Meet CRES scientists and learn about the work they are doing to save endangered critters around the world.
  • Silent Auction! We have nearly 200 items to bid on, including behind-the-scenes Zoo tours, travel packages, entertainment, artwork, and more. The auction closes at 10 p.m.
  • Fun & Games! Take an aerial tram ride, visit with keepers and their critters, test your skill at the Conservation Carnival, and visit with fortune tellers and roaming entertainers. Be dazzled by a magician, enjoy special hors d'oeuvres, and mingle with special critter guests at the VIP party.
