Our newest exhibit area, Elephant Odyssey, has lots of animals and stories to share! Our most ambitious project to date, Elephant Odyssey covers 7.5 acres, boasts 34 species of animals and 11 different animal habitats, including the 2.5 acres for our elephants. But that’s not all—Elephant Odyssey is a journey back in time, a glimpse of the wildlife that roamed Southern California 12,000 years ago. It’s a colossal new experience!

During this two-hour tour you’ll get a special peek behind the scenes at Elephant Odyssey and have a close encounter with an animal while learning how we take care of the diverse collection found here, from our magnificent pachyderms to the ever-busy dung beetles. Tour the new Elephant Care Center. You’ll be part of a small, intimate group (no more than seven) that will tour the Zoo in an electric cart with your own guide.
