Whether you're a beginning, intermediate, or advance artist, these one-day art classes wtih an expert instructor are for you! Get your inspiration from the flora and fauan in the Zoo's collection.

Session I: Art in the Garden

July 21, 22, 23, 24, and 25
9 a.m.–3 p.m.

Instructor Todd Schmid will help guide students as they artistically interpret the botanical bounty on Zoo grounds. A horticultural specialist will add to your knowledge of these fair flora. A variety of media will be explored.

Session II: Individualized Wildlife Drawing

August 25, 26, 27, 28, and 29
9 a.m.–3 p.m.

Students will study a wildlife model (which changes daily) before heading off to the studio to create their masterpieces under the tutelage of Elizabeth Washburn. These classes are suitable for a variety of media: acrylics, watercolors, pen, pencil, or charcoal.

Program fees: One-day classes are $80 per class or $320 for five days for members, $90 per day or $360 for five days for nonmembers.

Applications are processed by postmark/fax date. A confirmation letter will be sent to you upon enrollment. If the program you registered for is sold out, your payment will be returned. Sorry, no refunds on cancellations with less than two weeks' notice or on fees less than $30. We retain a $10 cancellation fee per person, per program. Please note that some elements of all classes are subject to change due to weather, animal illness, availability, etc. Prices subject to change without notice.
