Grades 3–adult
Get creative! Join professional artists for these popular art sessions. Here's your chance to uncover your hidden talents as you gather inspiration from the Zoo's collection of animals and plants. All programs include animal presentations and all materials, except sketchbooks. Choose as many weeks as you like from the various sessions offered.

Summer Art Camp schedule (9 a.m.–3 p.m.)

Grades 4–adult, extended-day option for some classes available 7:30 a.m.–5 p.m.

Zoo art classes are taught by professional art teachers, who individually excel as talented artists! Each five-day session includes animal encounters, art materials, (except sketchbooks), and individual instruction within a class setting. Choose as many weeks as you like.

Cartooning with Alex

This class will explore artistic concepts such as line, shape, space, value, color, texture, and composition. Artists will create their own cartoon animal characters.

This class will be doing art with oil pastels. Alex will select a number of animal models throughout the day and provide his students with lots of individual tips and tricks when working in oil pastels.

Animal Babies with Elizabeth

This class will work in a variety of art media and will focus on the tricks necessary to turn animal art into adorable baby animals.

On the Wild Side of Fine Arts

This class will be taking crafts to a whole new level. A variety of craft projects will result in finished products that take on the look of fine art.

Animals on the Wild Side of Design with Todd

This class will explore art using a variety of media. Todd will focus his instruction on the importance of creative expression in design.
