Pumpkins at the Park transforms the Wild Animal Park into a safe, family friendly Halloween adventure! Take part in the Trick-or-Treat Scavenger Hunt, learn about animals of the past at the Extinct Animal Graveyard, enjoy some Eerie Entertainment, take part in the Conservation Cupcake Walk and our Costume Contest, and keep a lookout for some Spooky Animal Encounters. There will also be animal enrichment sessions throughout each day for our gorillas and Lion Camp residents.
Activities
- Costume contest in Tembo Stadium (see below)
- Trick-or-Treat Scavenger Hunt
- Conservation Cake Walk for Bats ($5 donation to participate)
- Animal Enrichment in the exhibits of vultures, gorillas, lions, elephants, and other animal areas.
- Creepy Crafts (9 a.m.–4 p.m.)
- Carnival Games in Malawi Picnic Grove (10 a.m.–4 p.m.)
- Extinct Animal Graveyard (all day)
- Creepy Crawly Crevasse (all day)
- Halloween Bites

Costume contest for children and teens:
0–5 years old (Grand Prize: Savanna Safari tour; 1st place: 4 pack of tickets; 2nd place: gift bag)
6–10 years old (Grand Prize: Snapshot Photo Caravan tour; 1st place: 4 pack of tickets; 2nd place: gift bag)
11–17 years old (Grand Prize: Roar & Snore sleepover, Classic Tent; 1st place: 4 pack of tickets; 2nd place: gift bag)
Costumes
All guests ages 17 years and younger may dress in their favorite Halloween costume and must follow these guidelines:
- Costumes should be child friendly and may not be obstructive, offensive, or violent.
- Guests may wear masks; however, masks must not obstruct vision and eyes must be visible at all times.
- Costumes should not drag on the ground.
- Costumes should not contain sharp objects, pointed objects, or materials that may accidentally strike another guest.
- Costumes should not contain any weapons that resemble or could easily be mistaken for an actual weapon.
- During normal Park operating hours, costumes are only permitted for guests 17 years of age or younger.
Guests that do not adhere to these guidelines may be refused entry into the event unless their costume can be modified to meet the above standards.
