At the Wild Animal Park
The San Diego Zoo's Wild Animal Park is the new destination hotspot for Girl Scouts! Daisies, Brownies, and Juniors can participate in daytime badge workshops which complete all the necessary requirements to earn their Petals, Try-Its, or Badges.* Every workshop includes fun, games, crafts, and, of course, ANIMALS!
* These programs do not provide badges. Troops can purchase the badge through the Council.
Daisy Scouts
Creepy, crawly, slimy, slithery, scaly… scary?!
Daisy Scouts may be small, but the Daisy Red Petal program will prove that you don’t have to be big to be brave! Lots of people are nervous around bugs, snakes, and other creepy crawly critters, but Daisies will be courageous and strong while they face their fears head-on meeting bugs, amphibians, and reptiles up close and personal. Once you get to know them, they’re not so scary after all! Girls will make a creepy critter craft to take home, sing the Bug Bravery Song, and earn their Red Petal all in one morning.

Make the world a better place for wildlife and pass it on!
If bugs and reptiles aren’t your thing, then make the world a better place by earning the Rose Petal. It’s important to stop and smell the flowers, so we have to protect them and the other living things that share our world. There are lots of things Daisies can do to help, and we’ll do quite a few as we earn this petal at the Wild Animal Park! Girls will meet an amazing animal up close and learn how to protect him. They’ll make a gift for an animal living in their own backyard and one for an animal here at the Park. Then they’ll make a special gift for another Daisy Girl Scout to help pass on what they’ve learned. Daisies will become ambassadors for wildlife as they inspire others to make the world a better place!

Brownie Scouts
Venture into the world of wildlife
Brownie Girl Scouts can become ecological explorers while examining habitats at the Wild Animal Park. Girls will investigate the ecological relationships of wildlife that live in their backyard and here at the Park. Once they’ve become habitat experts, they’ll create their own habitats to take home. We’ll find out who eats who in the food chain frenzy and meet a surprise animal visitor. Brownies will become habitat heroes while earning the Eco-Explorer Try-It.

What better place to explore the world of animals than the Wild Animal Park?
For a more detailed look at animals here at the Wild Animal Park, Brownies can earn their Animals Try-It while learning all about animal care. Girls will embark on a fun-filled, educator-led tour where they’ll see animals from around the world. Troops will meet an incredibly unusual animal face to face and make a special treat for him or her. The private tour will also include hands-on activities, games, and a cool animal craft. Who knew that taking care of animals could be so much fun?!

Fun with Flora and Fauna!

Girls will embark on a Park scavenger hunt, meet an education animal ambassador up close, and try their hands at animal training the Wild Animal Park way. Plus, they’ll take home an art project that will grow even more beautiful with time. We'll be plant and animal experts once we’ve earned this badge!

Field Biologists needed!
To focus on wildlife a little closer to home, Juniors can earn the Wildlife Badge. Girls will explore California plants and animals (even the poisonous ones!) with a private, educator-led tour. They’ll learn to differentiate species and individuals by field markings, behaviors, or calls, then try their hand at animal behavior observations just like a true scientist would do. A close-up animal encounter will bring wildlife to your troop so that you can focus on the details. The girls will go home as true field biologists with sketches, ethograms, and having earned their wildlife badge!
