Spruce: Hedgehog Spruce Picea glauca

Rounded, compact, and prickly, the hedgehog spruce Picea glauca 'Echiniformis' is a cultivated variety of the white spruce found in interior forests of Canada and Alaska. This little fellow adds a touch of whimsy to the Conifer Arboretum at the Safari Park, looking almost like it might get up suddenly and trundle off.
