FAMILY: PINACEAE (Pine Family)
Arranged along the branches in clustered star bursts, the silvery blue needles of the blue atlas cedar Cedrus atlantica 'Glauca' make it a favorite ornamental tree among gardeners. This true cedar is named after its native range in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco and Algeria. Its unusual, barrel-shaped cones sit on the tops of the branches, looking like glossy brown decorations.
