Palm: Ravenea glauca Ravenea glauca
FAMILY: Arecaceae (Palm Family)
Found in central to southern Madagascar, Ravenea glauca grows in dry forests, gullies, ravines, and rocky or sandy areas. The species can be variable in habit: some are tall and slender, and some have been seen almost trunkless in dry riverbeds. Its foliage in some of the drier areas will have more of a bluish gray to green color with a waxy or glossy appearance. This palm is vulnerable in the wild.
