Aloe: Aloe suzannae Aloe suzannae
FAMILY: Liliaceae (Lily Family)
The Aloe suzannae is a recently "rediscovered" aloe that has been and continues to be threatened in it native south and southwest area of Madagascar. It is an arborescent, or treelike, aloe that has a few known subpopulations of adult plants and there is no evidence of regeneration as of now. The Aloe suzannae is known to exist in only about a handful of botanical gardens, and those specimens are all less than 50 years old.
