Fern Pine Podocarpus gracilior

FAMILY: PODOCARPACEAE (Gymnosperm Family)

As you sit leisurely on the deck overlooking Mombasa Lagoon at the Safari Park, you'll hear the African fern pines gather the breeze in their graceful, thin leaves. Although they don't look much like pines and cedars, they are in fact conifers and produce both male and female cones.
