A quick look at the candelabra aloe Aloe candelabrum in bloom is enough to make it obvious where the plant got its common and scientific names. Many aloes are called candelabra aloes because of their often fire-colored, candle-like inflorescences, but this is the only aloe that secured the moniker for its species name.
