Umbrella Tree, Mallet Flower, or Australian Schefflera Tupidanthus calyptratus

FAMILY: ARALIACEAE (Aralia Family)

Alternately called Australian umbrella tree, mallet flower, Australian schefflera, or just tupidanthus, Tupidanthus calyptratus is very much like the schefflera you commonly encounter in living rooms, except that it branches from the base and tends to be a denser shrub. Its unusual woody, green fruits have a spotted pattern that looks a bit like Aboriginal rock art.
