Plants: Species
Dill or Dill Weed Anethum graveolens
FAMILY: APIACEAE (Carrot family)
Dill Anethum graveolens comes from the Saxon word dillan , meaning "to comfort" or "to lull." Records dating back to the Middle Ages mention dill water or dill tea being given to quiet colicky babies, a practice that some doctors still recommend today. And as it turns out, dill seems to help quiet a variety of adult stomach disturbances as well!
