Plants: Species
Australian Willow, Wilga Geijera parvifolia
FAMILY: RUTACEAE (Rue Family)
The graceful leaves and pendulous branches of the Australian willow Geijera parvifolia make it a popular tree in the United States as well as Down Under. But that common name is only used by us Yanks; the Australians call it the wilga. It is a member of the Rutaceae family, which also includes citrus plants, and the wilga's leaves are covered with oil glands that make them aromatic when crushed.
