Coral Tree (Erythrina): African Coral Tree Erythrina caffra

The spectacular orange-red blossoms of the African coral tree Erythrina caffra make a colorful statement in the Wild Animal Park's field enclosures during the late spring and summer. These large, thorny trees native to South Africa can grow up to 70 feet (21 meters) tall, and their showy flowers offer a sweet nectar that is popular with perching birds visiting the Park.
